Beason
Mr. James Robert Beason, 72, of Trion, Ga., formerly of Geraldine, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, in Rome, Ga.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Sister Anzella Abernathy and Bro. Walter Morgan officiating and burial in Fisher Cemetery.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Eugene Owens of Trion, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Marie Beason of Trion, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Clarence Davis of Henagar; brother, Charles Beason of Fort Payne; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Clark and Lela McSpadden Beason.
Dilbeck
Mrs. Pauline Elizabeth Dilbeck, 94, of Dutton, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11 a.m. at Section Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Hurst officiating. Burial followed in Dutton Methodist Cemetery.
Survivors include granddaughters and their husbands, Donna and Sonny Barnes and Alison and Rhett Walker; great grandchildren, Jason Barnes, Matthew and Shasta Barnes and Aurelie Walker; great great granddaughter, Ava Barnes; and sisters and brothers and their spouses, Berta Ryan, Wilma Hicks, Ernest and Charlotte Anderson, Roy and Ann Anderson and Imogene and Willy Anderson.
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. Dilbeck; daughter, Janette McCord; and granddaughter, Paula McCord.
Born Oct. 19, 1914, Pauline was a native of Dutton. She worked for the Eastman Company on the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, Tenn., from 1942 until 1945. After the war was over, she and W.L. returned to Dutton and opened the Dilbeck Grocery, which was a general merchandise and grocery store they ran for 36 years. She was also a long-time and active member of Dutton Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and helping others.
Fuller
Mr. Billy G. Fuller, 72, of Collinsville, passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. at Collinsville Funeral Home-Sharpe Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Killian officiating. Burial followed in Lebanon Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Fuller of Collinsville; brothers, J.D. Collins and Claud Fuller; sisters, Loweda McNew and Betty Robinson; and a host of relatives and friends.
Godwin
Mr. Coy Godwin, 84, of Henagar, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 18, at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ben Barrentine and the Rev. Winston Jenkins officiating. Burial followed in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Buelrine Goza Godwin of Henagar; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Charles Stephens of Fort Payne and Charlotte and Roger Robertson of Fort Payne; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Ann Godwin of Sand Rock and Barry and Kathlyn Godwin of Henagar; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mavis and Ronald Armstrong of Grove Oak and Joyce and Jim Hoskins of Rainbow City; brother, Charles Godwin of Tennessee; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Mr. Godwin was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served his country during World War II.
Goins
Mr. Donald Dwayne Goins, 76, of Section, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 16, at 4 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Old Sardis Cemetery.
Survivors include daughters, Carmela Waite of Elcahon and Debra Salisbury of Section; son, Romney Goins of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters, Mary Goins and Shirley Bray; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Goins was a member of Sand Mountain Holiness Church and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired barber.
Norrell
Ronald David Norrell, 73, of Homer, Ga., passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at his residence.
Fuenral services were held Friday, July 31, at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jeff Marston officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Chapel Cemetery with military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Albertson Norrell of Homer; daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue and Jason Hill of Maysville, Ga.; daughter, Elaine Norrell of Auburn; and grandchildren, Joshua Stone, Danielle Goodman and Kendra Rosser.
Mr. Norrell was retired from the Air Force and Georgia DOT. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
