Ables

Mrs. Lillian Ables, 95, of Florida, formerly of Rainsville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, in Florida.

Memorial services were held Friday, Oct. 2, at Geraldine Baptist Church, with Rainsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.



Mr. Calvin Black age 63 of Albertville, AL died Monday, October 5, 2009 at Marshall Medical Center South. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2pm from Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lusk Chapel Cemetery with Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc. directing, www.rainsvillefuneralhome.com. Visitation will be Sunday, October 11th from 11am-2pm. Donaghy

Mr. Robert D. Donaghy, 89, formerly of Pisgah, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Kerby Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Pisgah.

Survivors include his wife, Kate Greeson Donaghy of Cleveland, Tenn.; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Sandra Donaghy of Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Don Brandt of Roseville, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.



Fowler

Ms. Ina Mae Fowler, 81, of Crossville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at Gadsden Regional Hospital.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 3, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Brooks officiating. Burial followed in Concord Cemetery in Albertville.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and James Richards of Crossville; brothers and sisters-in-law, R.C. and Edna Bagwell of Albertville and Verlon and Wanda Bagwell of Boaz.

Ms. Fowler was preceded in death by her husband, Vernice Fowler; parents, W.H. and Mattie Bagwell; sister, Niva Baldwin; and brothers, Arnold, J.W. and D.C. Bagwell.



Mrs. Wanda Furgerson age 70 of Rainsville, Al died Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at St. Vincent East. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 2pm from Straight Creek Church of God with the Rev. Frank Bradford & Rev. Gary Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in Kirk Memorial Gardens with Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc. directing, www.rainsvillefuneralhome.com. Visitation will be held from Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday, October 2nd from 3pm-8pm & Saturday, October 3rd from 10am-12noon. Gentry

Lester Lee Gentry, 46, of Rossville, Ga., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 2, at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Erin Simmons and Bro. Cecil Hawkins officiating. Burial followed in Payne Gap Cemetery.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Hunter Cook of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, John and Debra Gentry of Cleveland; son, Billy Gentry of Kentucky; father, Richard Gentry of Trenton; brother, Will Gentry of Fort Payne; sisters, Pat Scholtz of Chickamauga, Debra Alfrey of Ider, Willodene O'Donnell of Trenton, Wanda McGee of Chickamauga and Phyllis Gentry of Sevierville, Tenn.; and grandchildren, John Gentry Jr., Nevaeh Gentry and Avery Cook.



Henry

Mrs. Doris Williams Henry, 75, of Fort Payne, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, in Sheffield.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 5, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Dr. Pat McFadden officiating. Burial followed in Burnt Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Henry of Fort Payne; daughters, Sheila Garrard of Sheffield and Karen Kriska; son, Kenneth Bell of Union Grove; step-sons, Brian Henry of Fort Payne and Steve Henry of Fort Payne; brother, Norman Graham of Georgia; 11 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Mrs. Henry was a member of the Fort Payne First Baptist Church.



Lee

Mrs. Willie D. Lee, 82, of Henagar, passed away Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in New Home Cemetery.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Edward Ray Sr. and Connie Patterson of Mentone; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Patterson of Sylvania, Laura and Gary Wooten of Henagar and Bernice and Eddie Peeples of Warner Robbins, Ga.; one sister, Imogene Wigley of Rainsville; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Lee; son, Melvin Patterson; and great grandson, Cody Clanton.



Middleton

Ms. David Ellon "Nug" Middleton, 92, of Pisgah, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, in Cumberland Health and Rehab in Bridgeport.

Graveside services were held Saturday, Oct. 3, at Macklin Cemetery in Rosalie, with Rev. Watson Williams officiating and Kerby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include her sons, Charlie W. Seabolt, Jr., of Pisgah and Thomas W. Middleton, and his wife, Pamela, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; grandson, Charles Michael Seabolt and his wife, Stacy, of Pisgah; granddaughter, Catherine Ellon Middleton of Chattanooga, Tenn.; great grandchildren, Mariah Catherine Thompson and Toni Marandiah Morgan, both of Pisgah.

She was born July 17, 1917, in Limrock. She was the daughter of the later Jim and Lucy Garland and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lester "Shorty" Middleton. For many years, she and her husband ran Middleton's Grocery in Rosalie.



Murdock

Mrs. Virginia "Jenny" Murdock, 74, of Fyffe, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 2, at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Verlon Stiefel and the Rev. Ronnie Murdock officiating. Burial followed in Mount Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Ralph Murdock of Fyffe; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Lisa Murdock of Fyffe; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Ed Bearden of Fyffe and Cindy and Howard Feemster of Arab; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roy Don and Patricia Coots of Fyffe and R.L. Coots of Geraldine; one special caregiver and friend, Louvinna Treece of Macedonia; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Mrs. Murdock was preceded in death by her parents, Zelmer and Clara Coots; and two brothers, Junior Coots and Roger Coots.

Mrs. Murdock was a member of Prospect Church.



Royal

Mr. Russell Royal, 53, of Ider, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Kerby Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Craze officiating. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery in Ider.

Survivors include his son, Dylan Royal of Ider; daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Chris Acker of Warrior; brothers, Finis Royal of Scottsboro, David Royal of Rome, Ga., James Royal, Arnold Royal and Raymond Royal, all of Ider; sisters, Patty Richie of Edgewater, Fla., and Marie Black of Fort Payne; and grandchildren, Collin and Chase Royal of Warrior.



Swords

Mrs. Debbie Elaine Swords, 52, of Fyffe, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, in Sheffield.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 6, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with Bro. Richard Barham officiating. Burial followed in Gold Cemetery.

Survivors include sisters, Connie Bullock of Dutton, Kathy Johnson of Fort Payne, Pam Watkins of Henagar and Nancy Manning of Huntsville;brothers, William M. Manning of Sylvania, Eddie Manning of Henagar and Charles Short of Fort Payne; and a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Swords was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Swords; mother, Peggy Weaver; father, William Elton Manning; and a sister, Abby Hurst.



Mr. James Warner age 58 of Rainsville, AL died Friday, October 2, 2009 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 2pm from Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J.T. Williams & Rev. Howard Bouldin officiating. Burial will follow in Rainsville Memorial Park with Rainsville Funeral Home, Inc. directing, www.rainsvillefuneralhome.com. Visitation will be Saturday, October 3rd from 1pm-9pm & Sunday, October 4th from 8am-2pm.
