Barrett
Mrs. Margaret Elizabeth Barrett, 90, of Dawson, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 20, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Windsor and the Rev. Phillip Battles officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery in Dawson.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Annette and Harold Harper, Kay and Ed Chandler, Reita Gunter, Becky and Troy Coots and Martha Barrett; sons, James and Anne Barrett, Sammy and Pam Barrett, Gene and Sheila Barrett, Dennis and Christine Barrett and Sammy Fraiser; sister, Marie Raley; 16 grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barrett was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Barrett; son, Doyle Hugh Barrett; grandsons, Jeremy Barrett and Darrell Harper; son-in-law, Preston Gunter; brothers, William "Bill" Young and Dick Young; and parents, Ed and Lizzie Young.
Mrs. Barrett was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.
Beck
Mrs. Sabra Beck, 93, of Geraldine, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, in Sheppard Cove Hospice.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Godwin officiating. Burial followed in Piney Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughters, Imogene Howard, Willette "Dolly" Carroll and Wanda Bolton; sons, Barley Drain and Gurley Drain; sister, Vader Roberson; brothers, Gordon Baird and Thomas Willis; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Bell
Mrs. Grace Bell, 85, of Rainsville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010, at Collinsville Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Briggs King and the Rev. Richard Bailey officiating. Burial followed in Mountain View Memory Gardens.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Carleen Bell of Rainsville; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Raybern Miller of Rainsville; two grandchildren, Joey and Selena Miller of Rainsville and Kevin Miller of Rainsville; one great grandson, Parker Miller of Rainsville.
Mrs. Bell was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Bell; parents, John and Lily Love; one son, Donald Bell; and one granddaughter, Kellie Bell Camp.
Brancefield
Mr. John Lewis Brancefield, 66, of Cleveland, Tenn., formerly of Macedonia, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, in VA Hospital in Nashville.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Boyd Lawson and the Rev. Clifford Barnes officiating. Burial followed in New Canaan Cemetery.
Survivors include his sons, George L. Brancefield of Wisconsin and Johnny Brancefield of Pennsylvania; sister, Marie Murphy of Cleveland, Tenn.; brother, Jimmy Franklin Brancefield of Cleveland, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
Brown
Mrs. Pauline "Shaw" Brown, 81, of Dutton, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 17, at Dutton Baptist Church with the Rev. Dale Haynes, the Rev. Nathan Brown, the Rev. Donnie Johnson and the Rev. Tommy Hurst officiating. Burial followed in Liberty Hill Cemetery in Flat Rock with Kerby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Gina Brown of Holly Pond, Thomas and Debbie Brown of Newport News, Va.; Jimi Brown of Holly Pond, Kelly Brown of Dutton and Allan Brown of Dutton; daughters and son-in-law, Gail Bolt, Connie Brown and Tami and Billy Myers, all of Dutton; sister, Dimple Camp of Scottsboro; one grandson; 10 granddaughters; seven great grandsons; two great granddaughters; and four step grandsons.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her son, Timothy Clyde Lee Brown.
Cole
Mrs. Brenda Cole, 52, of Fort Payne, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 19, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in Walker's Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Dewey Cole of Fort Payne; and brothers, William Walters of Cedar Bluff and Jessie Otis Walters of Cedar Bluff.

Mr. Marcus Frerick "Mark" Dowdey, 48, of Boaz, formerly of Geraldine, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 14, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Vernell Collins officiating. Burial followed in Haney Chapel.
Survivors include his uncle, Keith Fant of Geraldine; nephews and nieces, Wayne Fant of Crossville and Dennis and Kim Gilreath of Geraldine; friends, Phillip and Teresa Hood of Boaz, Sheila and Shane Myers of Boaz, Sarah Collins of Geraldine, Linda Gaither of Boaz, Aaron Hood of Boaz, Anna Hood of Boaz, Britney Sibert, Joshua Sibert and Brandon Fant.
Gilliland
Mr. Kevin Lee Gilliland, 28, of Crossville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 16, at Freeman's Chapel Church with the Rev. Jeff Rains officiating. Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Judy Martin of Crossville; father, Allan Shawn Gilliland of Martling; grandparents, Harold Savage and Carolyn Savage of Crossville; sister, Tabitha Martin York of Albertville; bothers, James Adam MArtin of Crossville and Bradley David Martin of Cookeville, Tenn.; great grandparents, Harison and Evelyn Beardon Savage of Crossville.
Houston
Mr. Kenneth Ray Houston Jr., 37, of Dawson, passed away Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 17, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Tom Holt officiating. Entombment followed in Mountain View Memory Garden Mausoleum.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Margaret and Larry Luther of Dawson; sisters and brother-in-law, Tamela and Paul West of Dawson and Monica Houston Willmon of Grant; nieces and their husbands, Maegan and Jason Pendergrass of Grant and Emily and Daniel Worsham of Grant; nephew, Trevor Willmon of Grant; great nephew, Clayton Pendergrass of Grant; and uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Linda Elrod of Tennessee.
Mr. Houston was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ray Houston Sr.; grandparents, Lester and Daisy Houston and Troy and Lucille Elrod.
Mr. Houston was a member of Lusk United Methodist Church and the Fyffe Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Edward Gaston Lacy, 48, of Henagar, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Darrell Sears officiating. Burial followed in Payne Gap Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Suggs of Henagar; daughters, Shalace Lacy Griffin of Gadsden and Misty Reed of Collinsville; sons, Brett Lacy of Gadsden and Shane Shipman of Fort Payne; father, Edward Lacy of Henagar; sisters and brothers-in-law, Cody Lacy of Fort Payne, Jimmie and Mickey King of Henagar and Amanda and Michael Westfall of Akron, Ind.; brother and sister-in-law, Shannon and Frances Lacy of Henagar; granddaughters, Emma Jade Grififn, Christian Reed and Taylor Shipman; grandsons, Gage Griffin, Trey Reed, Dallas Reed, Dillon Honeycutt and Ander Shipman.

Mr. Mervil Lands, 72, of the Blake Community, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at his residence.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 14, at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Smith officiating. Burial followed in Wesley's Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Iva Nell Lands of the Blake Community; son and daughter-in-law, Marlon and Melinda Lands of the Blake Community; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gurlon and Louise Lands of Powell and Glenn "Bill and Evon Lands of Section; one sister, Ludie Hill of Trussville; two grandchildren, Tyler and Olivia; and two special great nieces, Ella and Emma Cate.
Mr. Lands was preceded in death by four brothers, Buster Lands, Ray "Jank" Lands, Edward Lands and Herman Lands; and one sister, Betty Furgerson.'
McBride
Mrs. Pegghy McBride, 60, of Section, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Burial followed in New Canaan Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Susy Myers; sons, Craig Samples and Rodney McBride; sisters, Sara Tackett and Linda Rodriguez; brothers, Walter Townson, Leroy Townson, Sammy Townson and Joe Pelem; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
Osborn
Mrs. Margaret Sells "Murdy" Osborn, 88, of Collinsville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at DeKalb Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 16, at Collinsville First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Roy Daugherty, the Rev. Phillip Battles and the Rev. Chris Roberts officiating. Burial followed in Collinsville Cemetery with Collinsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Casket bearers were Dan Elrod, Rex Leath, Cecil Sharpe Jr., Ronnie Osborn, Munsey Box, Ronnie McReynolds and Paul Talley.'
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be sent to the Collinsville First United Methodist Church or the Collinsville Cemetery Association.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Byron and Sue Osborn; grandsons and their wives, Christopher and Brenda Osborn, Brian and Trinity Osborn, Colton Osborn and Logan Osborn; great grandchildren, Zoe, Zane and Delilah Osborn; special friend, Sarah Gladden; and special puppy, Love.
Mrs. Osborn was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Chloe Sells; brother, Elmo Sells; and son, Clement Osborn.
Mrs. Osborn was a long-time member of the Collinsville United Methodist Church, joining at the age of 7. This church and ministry meant a great deal to her. She taught Sunday School for both adults and children and was also a lay minister in the church. She had taught in many of the local churches in the northeast Alabama area.
Robinson
Mrs. Exie Mae Robinson, 72, of Bryant, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 20, at Free Home Holiness Church at Bryant with the Rev. David Higdon officiating. Burial followed in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Bryant with Kerby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Curtis Leon Robinson of Bryant; son, Curtis Lamar Robinson of Bryant; daughters, Sheila and Keith Jones of Bryant and Shannon Reed of Bryant; sisters, Janice Croft of Henagar, Carolyn Hill of Bryant and Maggie Rockholt of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Shurett
Myrtle Green Shurett, 90, of Birmingham, formerly of Tuscaloosa, passed away
Monday, Jan. 18, 2010, at St. Vincent's Hospital, in Birmingham.
Services were announced by Heritage Chapel Funeral Home, of Tuscaloosa.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Rudy and Jim Marlowe, of
Dallas, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Ben and Mary Shurett, of Boaz, and
Scott and Pam Shurett, of Hoover; sister, Margie Griffin, of Northport;
grandchildren, Amy (King) Fifer, of Dallas, and Jeb Marlowe, of Austin,
Texas, Brad (Kimberly) Shurett, of Scottsboro, and Will (Katie) Shurett, of
Nashville, Tenn., Mary Catherine (Daniel) Burson, of Pasadena, Calif., and
David Shulman, of Birmingham; three great-grandchildren, Hix and Owen Fifer,
of Dallas, and Nora Marlowe, of Boston, Mass., and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rudy Bailey, of Anniston, and
H.E. "Red" Shurett, of Tuscaloosa; her grandson, Miles Shurett, of
Tuscaloosa; and five brothers and sisters.
Trace
Carolyn Franklin Trace, 72, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of Henagar, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at her residence.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 16, at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Carroll officiating. Burial followed in Payne Gap Cemetery.
Survivors include her companion, Donald Hammock of Okeechobee; daughter and son-in-law, Dianna and Gerald Bethune of Flat Rock; brother, John R. Franklin of Scottsboro; grandchildren, Nicole and Matt Higdon and Jessica and Thomas Bearden; and three great grandchildren.
