Adams



Mrs. Barbara Jean Adams, 67, of Pisgah died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009.

Services were held Friday, Jan. 23, from the Kerby Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Bud Durham and Fred Porter officiating. Burial followed in the Pea Ridge Cemetery with Kerby Funeral Home of Henagar directing.

Survivors include: son and daughter-in-law, Kerry and Charlotte Wright of Bryant; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Tim Moore of Henagar, Leisa and Rick Pender of Athens and DeAnna and Michael Gass of Madison; brothers, Rusty Parrish and Jimmy Tinker, both of Chickamauga, Ga.; sisters, Emily Paoletti of Atlanta, Ga., Dianne Boyd of Savannah, Ga., Charlotte Campbell of Locust Grove, Ga., and Lynn Phillips of Chickamauga, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Adams; mother, Lillian Manley Parrish; and brother, Ricky Parrish.



Anderson



Mrs. Idell Westbrook Anderson, 88, of Fyffe died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at her residence.

Services were held Sunday, Jan. 25, from the Fyffe Church of God with the Rev. Michael Cleckler officiating. Burial followed in the Beulah Cemetery with Rainsville Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include: son, Gene A. Westbrook of Fyffe; brothers, Bill Maddox of Anniston, Euell Maddox of Painter and Ellis Maddox of Glencoe; and sisters, Eulene Burdine of Geraldine and Avery Stephens of Fyffe.

Mrs. Anderson was preceded in death by husbands, Elmer Westbrook and Autis Benton Anderson.



Carson



Mr. Dempsey Carson, 88, of Dutton died Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at Huntsville Veterans Home.

Services were held Sunday, Jan. 18, from the Section Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Hilley and Maurice Johnson officiating.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Gordon Beavers of Dutton; son, Leon Carson of Dutton; four grandchildren; sisters, Balma Haynes and Maverine Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.



Dixson



Mr. Juree Dixson, 81, of Pisgah died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at his residence.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 24, from the Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bros. David Huskin and Shannon Justus officiating. Burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery with Corner Stone Funeral Chapel of Ider directing.

Survivors include: wife, Lucille Smith Dixson; daughter and son-in-law, Gaynell and Billy Justus of Pisgah; son and daughter-in-law, Verlon and Pat Dixson of Scottsboro; son, Jerry Dixson of Pisgah; brother, Ethridge Dixson of Plant City, Fla.; sisters, Johnnie Justus of Trenton, Ga., and Sue Bowen of Flat Rock; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.



Higgins



Mr. Boyd Higgins, 78, of Henagar died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at his residence.

Services were held Sunday, Jan. 25, from the W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brian Harris officiating. Burial followed in Kirk Memorial Gardens with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville directing.

Survivors include: wife, Gladys Yvotta Higgins of Henagar; daughter and son-in-law, Lauri and Guy Falkenberry of Madison; son and daughter-in-law, Alvin and Brenda Higgins of Fort Payne; daughter-in-law, Carol Higgins of Rainsville; sister, Marie Croft of Georgia; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mr. Higgins was preceded in death by his mother, Pearl Higgins; son, Jimmy Higgins; and brothers, Raymond Higgins and Kenneth Higgins.

Shirley



Mr. J.W. Shirley, 85, of Ider died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at his residence.

Services were held Friday, Jan. 23, from the Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Randy Crawford officiating. Burial followed in the Green Haven Memorial Garden with Corner Stone Funeral Chapel of Ider directing.

Survivors include: wife, Barbara Sue Shirley; daughters and sons-in-law, Sissy and Jim Brown of Flat Rock and Cathy and Joey Shortt of Scottsboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Wilburn and Janice Shirley of Ider and Michael and Renee Shirley of Flat Rock; son, Wayne Shirley of Flat Rock; brothers, Bill Phillips of Ider and Jack Phillips of Scottsboro; sisters, Mag Underwood of Ider, Louila Posey of Rosalie, Beatrice Kilgore of Bridgeport, Imogene Posey of Pisgah and Lola Garrett of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews.

Wade



Mr. Tommy Wade, 64, of Rainsville died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at his residence.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 24, from the Rainsville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Roger Graham officiating. Burial followed in Kirk Memorial Gardens with Rainsville Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include: wife, Patricia Beam Wade of Rainsville; son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Robin Wade of Sylvania; two grandchildren; brothers, Macky Hugh Wade of Rainsville and E.K. Wade of Madison, N.C.; and sister, Reba Smith of Ringgold, Ga.

Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Frances Wade; and sisters, Patsy Rose Wade and Mary Ruth Brown.



Watson



Mrs. Loreane Watson, 69, of Flat Rock died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at Parkridge Medical Center.

Services were held Friday, Jan. 23, from the Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Shelton Black officiating. Burial followed in the Bluff Cemetery with Corner Stone Funeral Chapel of Ider directing.

Survivors include: husband, Lee Watson; daughter, Julie Watson of Chickamauga, Ga.; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Lamar Sharp of Lookout Mountain; four grandchildren; and brother, John Will Edmonds of Bridgeport.

Mrs. Watson attended the West Brow Free Holiness Church.



Wooten



Mrs. Roselee Wooten, 91, of Rainsville died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at her residence.

Services were held Friday, Jan. 23, from the Rainsville Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Donny Johnston officiating. Burial followed in the Town Creek Cemetery with Rainsville Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Erby C. and Bonnie Wooten of Rainsville, Clifton Buck and Louise Wooten of Fyffe and Loyd and Janice Wooten of Chickamauga, Ga.; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Dilmos Johnston of Henagar and Edna and Larry Woodside of Rainsville; brother, Robert Hardeman of Tiftonia, Ga.; sister, Marie Roden of Memphis, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Wooten was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Wooten; her parents, Grover and Maybell Hardeman; four brothers; and two sisters.
